Nicky vs. Clarice from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
For some strange reason, Nicky has an issue with Clarice. We're not sure whether it's the singing or the animated head, or whether he has a strange attraction to her, but Nicky definitely reacts to Clarice's presence.
Here's one video from a string of Nicky vs. Clarice activity. There are a few more videos, but they came out so dark!
P.S. - that's toilet paper on the floor that Nicky happened to leave in the hallway.

Fun Shiba Inu Gifts
We discovered a great site that has some wonderful Shiba Inu merchandise!
Check out Obey the Purebreed.com
All of the images shown here are from the "Obey" site, and we purchased an "Obey the Shiba Inu" propaganda poster for Nicky as a Christmas gift. He has yet to thank us.
You can order any of these images on t-shirts, mugs, posters, sweatshirts...you name it!
We really had a good laugh finding these products.
Happy shopping!
A Rare Moment
Introducing Nicky
This is Nicky, our dear, innocent, sweet shiba inu...okay, anyone who owns this breed of dog knows we're joking!
We adopted Nicky from a breeder in Kansas, and had him flown out to Los Angeles when he was 2 months old.
We discovered Nicky online, not having any knowledge of what the shiba inu breed was all about (PROBLEM #1). We simply thought they were cute dogs that looked like a fox. The website that featured the dogs gave no indication of their crafty, cunning personalities.
In any event, when we met Nicky at the Burbank Airport (in his stinky little crate), we were immediately struck by his adorable little bear face and stout rear bow-legs. Everyone there was so in love with him!
Once he arrived home, after a long drive with all of the car windows open to help us deal with his odor, we brought him to the backyard and introduced him to Chickie (our Pomeranian).
Right away, Nicky decided he was going to be the Top Dog and immediately established that everything in the backyard was his (from the plants to the furniture to Chickie's old toys...and Chickie as well). We thought that was so endearing at first, but little did we know what we were in for!
We decided we ought to give Nicky his first bath, and did so in our kitchen sink only to find out that we had a screaming hyena instead of a puppy. He had SO much energy in his attempt to keep from getting wet... With his yodeling screams, it sounded like we were torturing him, not knowing this was really the way he barks. This was our first indication of his cat-like behavior...we had no idea what was in store for us.
Nicky is now 2 1/2 years old, and continues to amuse and surprise us. In this time, we have replaced all of our indoor and outdoor furniture, screens, house floor molding, pillows, blankets, toys (both cat and dog), shoes and the list goes on and on, and on...but we love him!
